Surgical removal of breast implants is the process of removing silicone or saline implants. You may opt to have the procedure because you no longer want implants or you may have problems with your implants. Many people choose implant removal because scar tissue has developed over the implant. This is known as a capsular contracture.

Oftentimes, the breast shape has changed since the original breast augmentation. Many women choose to have a breast lift (Mastopexy) and/or fat grafting to the breasts in conjunction to the breast implant removal. By doing so, the breasts will be lifted into a more youthful position and will have volume restored.
